Avery Dennison Material Guides
Engineer Grade Reflective Sheeting (ASTM Type I) is commonly used in areas where you need a cost-effective reflective sign such as along rural roads with low traffic volumes and in parking lots where speed is reduced.
High Intensity Prismatic Sheeting (ASTM Type III & IV) is quickly becoming the standard specification for use in most major centers in Western Canada. Its use is widespread and most suitable for highway signs requiring high visibility with a high-performance life cycle.
For "Bright when it matters" we use Maximum Visual Performance (MVP) Prismatic Grade Reflective Sheeting (ASTM Type VIII). The MPV grade is the preferred application for high-speed areas where maximum visibility is the primary concern. The fluorescent yellow has been widely accepted to highlight hidden intersections and bridge heights; and the fluorescent orange is becoming the norm for a wide variety of temporary construction signs in Ontario and Western Canada.
The robust performance characteristics of Omni-View (ASTM Type IX) is the perfect choice for premium prismatic sheeting requirements, enhancing short-distance brightness while maintaining long-distance brightness. The overall reflective performance of Omni-View allows it to stand out against the competing brightness of the urban background light while maintaining legibility. The unique sheeting structure provides outstanding weathering properties with a 12-year durability.
